Abstract
Batik is an Indonesian cultural heritage that carries historical, philosophical, and high aesthetic values. Mojokerto, as a region with the historical background of the Majapahit Kingdom, has a wealth of distinctive and meaningful batik motifs. The development of batik UMKM’s in Mojokerto has been increasing year by year, creating the need for a facility that can accommodate production, promotion, education, and the preservation of batik culture. The design of the Mojokerto Batik Center comes as a solution to meet this need. This center is expected to become a hub of activities that can introduce Mojokerto batik to the wider community while enhancing the economic value and competitiveness of local products. In its design, a neo-vernacular architectural approach is used, integrating local traditional elements through a modern concept. It aims to create a building that is functional while representing the cultural identity of Mojokerto. This design study involves site analysis, space requirements, comparative studies, and the integration of local architectural concepts into the design. The design results are expected not only to become an architectural icon that attracts tourists but also to serve as a means of cultural preservation as well as the development of the creative economy in Mojokerto.
