Abstract
Indonesia is the largest archipelago country in the world with an area of 1,904,569 km², as well as the country with the 6th most islands in the world with a total of 17,504 islands. So that the government rapidly develops the tourism sector in various regions. One of the areas that is actively developing in the tourism industry sector is located on Bintan Island, the charm of the natural beauty on Bintan Island is very beautiful, especially in the coastal region, in addition to its position close to the country of Singapore, Bintan Island is visited by many foreign tourists. The number of visits to the island of Bintan in 2019 decreased drastically, but as the level of spread of covid-19 that entered the post-pandemic era decreased, the number of visits increased again by 50.32%. Therefore, as the number of tourists increases, especially in the post-pandemic period, it is necessary to prepare to accommodate the tourists who will come back when the situation is back to normal. By planning a resort hotel to accommodate accommodation and entertainment for foreign visitors or local visitors. In addition, by planning a Resort with a Neo-Vernacular Architecture Approach in Bintan Island, with the principle of adopting traditional forms, it is expected to be able to preserve the culture in the surrounding area and introduce it to foreign and local tourists. The design concept that will be used is Neo-Vernacular Architecture with reference to the determined theme of "Heritage of Malay", where the design concept will refer to the characteristics and customs of the Malay tribe combined with a modern touch without removing the vernacular value itself, so that tourists are expected to be able feel the typical Malay resort atmosphere.
