Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between exposure to Vina Muliana's TikTok content and the work readiness of fresh graduates in Surabaya City. The content under study focuses on Vina Muliana's TikTok account, which provides information related to the world of work and career preparation. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 100 fresh graduate respondents in Surabaya City who follow Vina Muliana's TikTok account, selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using Spearman's Rank correlation test, grounded in the Uses and Effect theory, which explains that media use produces effects on audiences. The concept of conseffect is used to explain that media consumption generates consequences and effects in the form of changes in an individual's level of readiness to face the world of work. The results show that there is a significant relationship between exposure to Vina Muliana's TikTok content and the work readiness of fresh graduates in Surabaya City, with a correlation coefficient of 0.344, which falls into the weak relationship category. Respondents' viewing frequency was relatively low, while duration and attention toward the content were relatively high, and respondents' overall level of work readiness was high.
