Abstract
ABSTRACT Bali is known as a global center of culture and tourism, boasting a wealth of traditions and significant potential in the creative economy, particularly in the handicraft sector. Klungkung Regency is one of the regions in Bali that possesses a handicraft heritage that is still preserved through traditional methods, however lacks adequate integrated facilities. The design of the Handicraft Center in Klungkung, Bali, using a Traditional Architectural Approach to create a space that can boost the local economy, encourage the regeneration of young artisans, and serve as a culture-based educational tourist destination. The traditional Balinese architectural approach is employed as an effort to preserve cultural identity through the application of concepts such as Tri Hita Karana, Tri Mandala, and Asta Kosala Kosali in spatial planning and building design. This craft center is designed as an integrated complex featuring various facilities such as a gallery, production spaces, workshops, training rooms, retail areas, and public spaces that facilitate interaction among artisans, the community, and tourists. Through this design, it is hoped that a craft ecosystem will emerge that not only supports the sustainability of the creative economy but also strengthens the character of local Balinese architecture amidst the challenges of modernization and globalization.
