Abstract
This study was conducted with the aim of examining and analyzing the effect of budget participation, budget target clarity, and the management control system on managerial performance at PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya. This is a quantitative research study that utilizes primary data collected through the distribution of questionnaires to respondents. The population of this study consisted of 373 employees of PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya. The sample size for this research was 101 employees of PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya who are involved in budget management. The sampling technique used was nonprobability sampling with the purposive sampling method. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Square (PLS) executed with the Smart PLS 4 software. The stages employed in the PLS analysis technique consisted of outer model analysis, inner model analysis, and hypothesis testing. The results of this study prove that the variables of budget participation, budget target clarity, and management control system all have an effect on managerial performance. This research provides implications for PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya in selecting budget preparation participants, formulating budget targets clearly and specifically, and paying close attention to the management control system.
