Abstract

There are several factors that influence suicide in college students, including demographics, psychological problems such as depression and addiction, and social problems such as isolation and stigma. On September 18, 2024, a student at Ciputra University Surabaya committed suicide, which prompted the author to design an educational campaign about Self Reward to help mental health. Many teenagers experience mental disorders, often influenced by family environment, and social pressure. Muslim women are often vulnerable to depression due to hormonal factors and social pressure. Consultation or seeking help becomes difficult for them because of stigma. Self-reward can be done in various ways, including buying favorite items or enjoying time alone. The right self-reward should support mental health without leading to excessive consumption. An educational campaign about self-reward was designed to help Muslim women understand the importance of valuing themselves. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach method. Qualitative research is research that examines the perspectives of participants with interactive and flexible strategies. The planning of this Self Reward educational campaign uses quantitative and qualitative methods. This second option was chosen because the design requires relevant data. To get more in-depth information about the phenomena found. This study designs an educational campaign for Muslim women aged 19–24 years about the importance of self-reward. This campaign is to increase understanding of positive self esteem according to Islamic values. This is due to high mental pressure and negative stigma towards self-rewards which are considered wasteful. The campaign is delivered through educational visual media, both online and offline, with a minimalist style and friendly language. The goal is to form healthy habits in self-esteem and maintaining mental-emotional balance. The design of this educational campaign aims to increase awareness of the importance of self-reward as a form of positive, meaningful self-esteem, and in line with Islamic values. This campaign uses attractive visual and digital media to change negative views about self reward, and encourage Muslim women to respect themselves more in order to maintain their mental and emotional health.
