Abstract
Natural resources abound in Indonesia; one such resource is vanilla. Between 2011 and 2020, there was a yearly growth in the US trend of consuming items made with organic components, which in turn led to a rise in the demand for vanilla. This study aims to examine the competitiveness of Indonesian vanilla exports, as well as its market share in the United States, and compare it with other exporting nations in light of the current situation. Methods of quantitative description are used in this study. Secondary data are the sort of data used in this study. The comparative advantage of Indonesian vanilla commodities in the US market is ascertained by data analysis techniques such as Revealed Symmetric Comparative Advantage (RSCA) and Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA). Constant Market Share (CMS) is used to determine the market share of Indonesian vanilla commodities in the United States market. The results of the research show that the level of competitiveness of Indonesian vanilla is able to surpass that of Mexico and Uganda but is still below Madagascar. In terms of market share, Indonesian vanilla has a lower market share than other exporter competitors in the United States market. Keywords: RCA, CMS, Vanilla, export, United State of America
