Abstract

Sidoarjo Regency is one of the cities with more than 15,000 SMEs in East Java. One of the famous SMEs in Sidoarjo is written batik which has its own characteristics. One of the SMEs that still maintains written batik with typical Sidoarjo motifs is Batik Tulis Al-Huda. Batik Tulis Al-Huda is a place of production and sales of written batik that still maintains traditional manufacturing by emphasizing the uniqueness of Sidoarjo's distinctive motifs. Although it has maintained the uniqueness of Sidoarjo's distinctive motifs, the existence of Batik Tulis Al-Huda is still less recognized by the community, especially the people of Sidoarjo and its surroundings. This is due to the lack of strong branding built by Al-Huda Batik. Visual identity that has not been designed optimally is also one of the factors of low public awareness of the existence of this business. So based on the problems encountered by researchers, a rebranding design for Batik Tulis Al-Huda was made in order to increase brand awareness to the Sidoarjo community and target consumers. This design uses qualitative research methods where the data collection techniques used are data collection through interviews and observations. The data that has been collected will be analyzed to produce conclusions that are collected in the data synthesis. After going through the analysis process, the data will go through a brainstorming stage to find keywords that will later be used as a reference in this design. The final result of this design will be a visual identity, supporting media, and brand activation concept to support the promotional process of Batik Tulis Al-Huda. With this design, it is hoped that brand awareness of Batik Tulis Al-Huda can increase and be better known by the wider community so that Batik Tulis Al-Huda can increase efforts in preserving typical Sidoarjo batik.
