Abstract

ABSTRACT Appearance is often important for teenagers because it becomes their identity. Appearance can also have a positive and negative impact on teenagers. Especially for generation Z teenagers who are teenagers with rapid technological development, especially on social media which has allowed them to be able to access various kinds of information through various parts of the world, one of which is about fashion. Various introductions and information in social media encourage generation Z teenagers to recognize ongoing trends, one of which is in fashion. Their appearance follows the taste of teenage fashion that is being used. However, not all teenagers feel a sense of fit in following these trends and it becomes a negative impact due to a sense of dissatisfaction from the mismatch that occurs in appearance. Until the decline in self-confidence arises from the decline in self-esteem experienced by adolescents through low self-esteem.
