Abstract

Human resources serve as a pivotal pillar that determines a company's direction and achievements. They manage operations, drive innovation, and adapt to market dynamics. Empowered and high-performing human resources are an essential key to achieving optimal and sustainable organizational performance in an era of global competition. This research aims to determine the effect of workload on employee performance through job burnout. This study employs a quantitative research method. A saturated sampling technique was used to determine the sample, involving 37 employees. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires distributed to employees. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) Partial Least Squares 4.1.1.2 statistical analysis was utilized to test the hypotheses. This research proves that workload has a negative and significant effect on employee performance, and job burnout is capable of mediating this relationship. Employees who experience a heavy workload will suffer from job burnout, which will ultimately lead to a decrease in their performance.
