Abstract

The phenomenon of songs going viral on social media, especially on platforms like TikTok, has garnered significant attention due to its impactful role in shaping cultural trends and digital behavior. This research aims to analyze the digital discourse in video content using the song "Backburner" on TikTok. Employing a qualitative approach, this study uses digital discourse analysis methods on four main elements: text, context, action and interaction, and ideology and power. The research shows a connection between emotions and music in TikTok content, as well as the use of patriarchal statements in certain relationship contexts. The context analysis includes tracing the origins of the song "Backburner," related content production, and the influence of TikTok's algorithm. User interaction with content, evident through features like likes, comments, and shares, indicates emotional engagement with the music. Furthermore, the analysis of ideology and power identifies patriarchal narratives, representations, and social practices in content that uses the song "Backburner."
