Abstract

Competition in today's vast business world to be able to penetrate the market is getting tighter day by day, this is due to the era of globalization and the development of the modern world that continues to advance and experience change. In Indonesia, the retail business is very numerous and diverse, such as: Matahari Department Store which has a large-scale retail store management is separated and divided into different departments selling different kinds of goods. On that basis, the purpose of the research is to lift the influence of Shopping Lifestyle and Hedonic Motivation against impulse buying. This study uses a sample of consumers who buy at Matahari The Department Store at Royal Plaza Surabaya uses nonprobability sampling and purposive sampling technique. Methods in data analysis in This research is Partial Least Square. The results of the study can be concluded that Shopping Lifestyle has positive and significant results on impulse buying, as well as Hedonic Motivation have positive and significant results on impulse buying.
