Abstract
Employee performance is a key aspect determining the effective and efficient achievement of organizational goals. A high level of performance can be achieved if the organization manages its human resources appropriately through appropriate task allocation, work motivation, and the creation of a work environment that supports employee productivity in carrying out their responsibilities. This study aims to determine the effect of workload on employee performance at the Puskesmas Deket, with motivation as a moderating variable. A quantitative approach was used, with a population and sample of 72 Puskesmas Deket's employees obtained through a saturated sampling technique. Data collection in this study was conducted through questionnaires distributed to employees and analyzed using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) technique using the SmartPLS 4.0 analysis tool. The test results concluded that workload has a negative and significant effect on employee performance, and motivation can positively moderate the negative relationship between workload and employee performance at the Puskesmas Deket. These findings indicate that the higher the workload received by employees at the Puskesmas Deket, the lower their performance will be. Furthermore, motivation acts as a buffer, weakening the negative impact of workload on employee performance. High levels of employee motivation can reduce or minimize the decline in performance caused by the high workload.
