Abstract
Employee performance is an important factor in maintaining the smooth operation of production processes and the competitiveness of a company, particularly in small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (SMEs). UD Cahaya Indah implements a make-to-stock production system with its main product being rectangular paving stones, which have a high demand. Although monthly production targets are generally met, these achievements often rely on overtime, causing the work rhythm to be less stable. This condition indicates issues in the dynamics of employee performance. This study aims to analyze the influence of workload, work environment, work motivation, and work discipline on job satisfaction and employee performance. The method used is Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with 32 production employee respondents. The results show that workload has a positive and significant effect on employee job satisfaction. Work discipline and job satisfaction also have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The work environment and work motivation do not show a significant effect on either job satisfaction or employee performance. Testing the specific indirect effect proves that job satisfaction serves as a mediating variable between workload and employee performance. These findings are expected to serve as evaluation material and recommendations for companies in the sustainable management of human resources.
