Abstract
This study examines the practices of verbal and non verbal violence in Instagram Reels content by @mastercobuzier as a response to public criticism of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG). Using Rodney H. Jones’ digital discourse analysis approach, this research explores how violence is produced and normalized through text, context, interactional actions, and power relations. The findings reveal forms of verbal violence such as the utterances ‘pala lu PA!’, ‘gue tabok!’, and ‘sekaya apa ente?’ which function as symbolic intimidation. Non verbal elements such as elevated intonation, pointing gestures, and emojis intensify the aggression and influence audience reception. The content shifts policy criticism into a moral judgment of individuals, constructing the student who voiced the criticism as inappropriate. Ideologically, this pattern reflects elitist populism, in which a public figure uses moral authority to silence criticism. Audience interactions in the comment section demonstrate the reproduction of symbolic violence that reinforces power relations and shapes moral norms within the digital public space.
