Abstract

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Surabaya plays a strategic role in disaster mitigation and management. To support its operations, an intuitive, centralized, and efficient data management information system is required. However, the existing system faced technical issues, leading to a temporary migration to cloud-based solutions such as Google Spreadsheet. These interim solutions presented challenges, including decentralized data management and inefficient processes. This study aims to redesign the user interface of the data management information system for BPBD Surabaya. By utilizing a needs analysis approach, this research produced an interface design that incorporates key features such as disaster management, inventory management, activity scheduling, documentation, and activity logs. The prototype design was developed using the Figma platform, adhering to user-centered design principles to ensure ease of use and improve BPBD's operational efficiency. The result of this redesign is a prototype that provides features such as login, data validation, and category-based data management. This prototype is expected to be implemented into a web-based system to optimize BPBD's tasks more effectively.
