Abstract

Generation Z has now become one of the dominant segments of the workforce across various industrial sectors. This generation is often characterized by a lower long-term commitment to organizations and a greater tendency to switch jobs more quickly compared to previous generations. Such conditions create new challenges for companies in maintaining workforce stability, making it crucial to pay attention to factors that influence employee loyalty, such as job satisfaction and self-efficacy. This study aims to analyze the effect of job satisfaction and self-efficacy on turnover intention among Generation Z employees working in Sidoarjo Regency. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a combination of probability and purposive sampling techniques, allowing respondents to proportionally represent the population while also meeting the study’s criteria. The number of respondents in this research reached 120 individuals, all belonging to Generation Z. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires designed to measure job satisfaction, self-efficacy, and turnover intention. The data obtained were then analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS), a method suitable for testing relationships among latent variables within a research model. The results indicate that both job satisfaction and self-efficacy have a significant negative effect on turnover intention. This means that the higher the level of job satisfaction and self-confidence of an employee, the lower the likelihood of them leaving the organization. These findings provide empirical evidence that enhancing job satisfaction and strengthening self-efficacy can serve as effective strategies for companies to reduce turnover intention, especially among Generation Z employees in Sidoarjo, who are known to be more dynamic in the workforce.
