Abstract

Human resources are a vital aspect for driving the sustainability of a company. In the contemporary era, human resources have become a company asset, where companies have the obligation to manage them well. Good and systematic human resource management will have a positive impact on company performance. This study aims to determine the influence of workload and career development on employee performance through job satisfaction at PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Sidoarjo Branch Office. This study uses a quantitative approach with non-probability sampling techniques and saturation sampling method (saturated sample) where the entire population will be used as the research sample. In this study, 43 staff-level employees of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk Sidoarjo Branch will be the research sample. The process of distributing the questionnaire will use the Google Form platform, which will be distributed online to employees. In measuring primary data, a 1-5 Likert scale will be used, and the collected data will be tested using SmartPLS Version 3.0 software. This research proves that workload has a negative and significant impact on employee performance. Career development does not have a significant impact on employee performance. Workload negatively and significantly affects employee performance through job satisfaction. Career development significantly influences employee performance through satisfaction. The conclusion of this research is that companies must understand the issues of workload and career development occurring on the ground to manage them well, so that employees feel satisfied with their work and this will enhance the performance of each individual employee.
