Abstract
Human resources are a strategic asset in the dynamic direct selling industry, where organizational success is highly influenced by employee performance, which serves as the focus of this study on supervisors at Herbalife Gresik. In the midst of intense business competition, Herbalife Gresik must ensure that its supervisors maintain high levels of motivation and work engagement to optimally support organizational goals. This research aims to analyze the influence of motivation and work engagement on employee performance, both directly and through job satisfaction as a mediating variable. This study employs a quantitative approach with Partial Least Squares (PLS) analysis to examine the relationships among variables. A total of 93 Herbalife Gresik supervisors were selected as the research sample using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert scale (1–5) questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability to ensure measurement accuracy. The findings reveal that motivation and work engagement have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Furthermore, job satisfaction serves as a mediating variable that strengthens the relationship between motivation and work engagement with performance. Supervisors with high levels of motivation and engagement, coupled with job satisfaction, tend to demonstrate optimal performance. These findings provide practical implications for the company to enhance strategies that improve motivation, work engagement, and job satisfaction in order to maximize supervisor performance.
