Abstract
The Climbing Ticket application is a digital innovation to make it easier to reserve tickets boldly, but its acceptance rate is still low with a rating of 3.9 on the Google Play Store as of December 2024. This thesis examines the factors influencing the acceptance of this app using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) approach, modified by adding the variables Hedonic Motivation and Habit, as well as moderators Price Value and Residency. Using a quantitative method with a questionnaire conducted on 372 respondents and Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis, 8 of the 11 hypotheses were accepted. The results showed that Performance Expectancy, Social Influence, Hedonic Motivation, and Habit significantly influenced Behavioral Intention, while Effort Expectancy and Facilitating Conditions did not. ICT Usage Behavior was shown to be significantly influenced by Behavioral Intention, Facilitating Conditions, and Habit. However, the moderator Price Value weakened the relationship between Behavioral Intention and ICT Usage Behavior, while Residency strengthened it. These findings underscore that usability, social influence, enjoyment, and habit are crucial in driving technology adoption. Conversely, ease of use and availability of features are less significant determinants. This thesis provides a practical contribution to designing applications that better align with the factors that truly influence user behavior.
