Abstract
Human resources are important assets in supporting the success of the organization, including in achieving the company's operational targets. However, the effectiveness of employee performance can be influenced by various factors, including workload and compensation. This study aims to analyze the effect of workload and compensation on employee performance at PT Pegadaian Persero Kalianyar Branch Surabaya. This research problem is based on the findings of a decrease in operational performance as indicated by the non-achievement of target indicators such as Outstanding Loan and Disbursement. The research method used is quantitative with a descriptive approach. Data was obtained through distributing questionnaires to 42 employees with total sampling technique. Data analysis was performed using the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method through SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results showed that workload and compensation have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. These findings emphasize the importance of balanced workload management and a fair and transparent compensation system to increase employee motivation and productivity in order to achieve organizational goals.
