Abstract

The 4.0 revolution has provided convenience in accessing various information and is one of the supporting factors in realizing financial intelligence for generation Z. In fact, many individuals from generation Z students still face difficulties in managing their finances effectively. This study aims to explore the influence of FOMO and impulsive buying on students' personal financial management with self-control as a moderating variable. This study was conducted with a quantitative approach and data collection was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires. The study population was 95,279, while the sample used was 100 respondents selected based on the purposive sampling technique. To analyze the data, the Partial Least Square (PLS) method was used. The results of this study reveal that FOMO and impulsive buying have a significant negative effect on students' personal financial management. In addition, the burden of FOMO and impulsive buying also has a negative and significant effect on students' personal financial management through the moderating role of self-control.
