Abstract
ABSTRACT Indonesia is one of the countries with the highest internet usage, with 221 million users out of a total population of 278 million. High internet usage will trigger various impacts, one of which is a negative impact. One of the negative impacts that can occur is the ease with which someone can access negative things such as child grooming. Child grooming is a method used by adults to build close, trusting, and emotional relationships with children with the aim of committing sexual abuse or violence. In Indonesia, cases of child grooming-related crimes are still rare, which is why this design was created using illustrated books as a medium. The design method used in this process is a qualitative approach, employing data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and questionnaires. Based on the questionnaire conducted with the target audience of this design individuals aged 25–35, 46 respondents expressed interest in using illustrated books as a medium to convey education and information about the dangers of child grooming. The content included in this book design discusses the definition and steps that parents can take to recognize and monitor their children from the dangers of child grooming. The book will be accompanied by supporting illustrations to convey concepts that cannot be expressed in words. Since the target audience for this design is adults, the style of the illustrations is not a key focus. What is important is the alignment between the illustrations and the topics being discussed. With the creation of this illustrated book addressing the dangers of child grooming, Indonesian society particularly parents will become more educated, and information about child grooming will spread more widely across Indonesia.
