Abstract

Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of death in women in Indonesia, especially due to late early detection. Therefore, an effective educational campaign approach is needed to increase public awareness of the importance of early detection through urine-based HPV DNA testing. This campaign is designed by considering the characteristics of the target audience, namely women of productive age who tend to be more responsive to social media and a personal and informative communication approach. The campaign design method uses a qualitative approach with data collection through interviews, distributing questionnaires, and studying literature related to early detection methods for cervical cancer. In addition, an analysis of media preferences, communication styles, and visual designs that are of interest to the target audience was carried out. The data obtained were analyzed to formulate an effective campaign strategy, starting from the selection of the main media, campaign concept, to the final design results. The results of the analysis show that the use of social media such as Instagram with educational video content, as well as the provision of supporting media such as key chains, tumblers, and tote bags are considered effective in attracting the attention of the audience. The campaign concept emphasizes a visual approach with a simple but attractive flat design style, combined with an empathetic and informative call to action message. The slogan "One Small Step, Big Protection" was chosen as the main message that is easy to remember and motivating. Through the design of this campaign, it is expected that the level of public awareness of the importance of early detection of cervical cancer can increase, as well as encourage more women to undergo urine-based HPV DNA testing. This campaign is also a model for the implementation of effective visual communication strategies in efforts to prevent disease based on public education.
