Abstract

This study explores how the virtual community "Anak Abah," formed through the social media account @HaveAniesDay on X, uses digital technology to support the political campaign of presidential and vice-presidential candidates Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar in the 2024 elections. Using a virtual ethnography approach, the research examines interactions, communication, and digital activism within the community. The study finds that the community uses features on X, such as Spaces, replies, and quote tweets, to share information, raise political awareness, and gather support. They also use creative strategies inspired by popular culture, like K-pop elements, to engage younger audiences. The community promotes positive campaigning without attacking others, creating an inclusive and constructive discussion space. This research highlights the role of social media in modern political campaigns and the importance of digital collaboration in building broad and organized support.
