Abstract
Journalism activities can now be carried out by anyone and anywhere, including the public. One of them is the people of Gresik who carry out citizen journalism activities through the Instagram account @infogresik. This is certainly interesting to research considering the large number of followers. The Instagram account @infogresik is thought to have been able to facilitate Gresik residents to share information and news around them. This research aims to determine the use of the Instagram account @infogresik as a citizen journalism activity in Gresik Regency. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method which uses interviews as the main data collection tool and is analyzed using Miles and Huberman's descriptive qualitative analysis theory. The research results show that the @infogresik account has succeeded in realizing maximum use of the account for ctizen journalism activities for the residents of Gresik Regency. Apart from that, the citizen journalism activities carried out by the residents of Gresik Regency basically fulfill the criteria for citizen journalism on social media and are able to attract very large and good public participation. It is known that the people of Gresik Regency choose to share information on the Instagram account @infogresik because it is considered fast response and easy enough so that the information shared can easily be disseminated quickly and accurately.
