Abstract
This study aims to analyze Generation Z's reception toward the idea of Prabowo Subianto's nationalism in the YouTube program "Prabowo Subianto Speaks About Ideas | Mata Najwa." Using qualitative methods and the reception analysis theory developed by Stuart Hall, this research describes Generation Z's views on nationalism within the context of globalization and the influence of social media. The results of the interviews indicate that the majority of informants possess a significant sense of nationalism, expressing love for their homeland through involvement in local culture and criticism of foreign cultural influences. In the context of the 2024 general election, Generation Z's participation demonstrates the use of social media as the primary tool for obtaining political information, although there are individual adjustments in how they receive dominant narratives. Prabowo Subianto is perceived as a nationalist figure, with attitudes divided between support for his ideas and criticism of his campaign strategies, which are considered inappropriate. Meanwhile, Najwa Shihab is perceived as a neutral journalist, although this perspective is influenced by the background and experiences of each informant. Overall, this study highlights the complexity of Generation Z's attitudes and views on nationalism, politics, and media in an increasingly global context. Keywords: Reception Analysis; Generation Z; Nationalism; Prabowo Subianto
