Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of liquidity ratio, stock price profitability, capital structure, and profit growth on firm value with profit growth as an intervening variable in food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2019-2023. This study uses secondary time series data obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This research is quantitative descriptive. The population of the study is 96 companies, and the sample is 12 companies selected using purposive sampling criteria. Data collection was carried out using a documentation method, by accessing information from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) website and other information sources. The total research data is 60 data from 2019-2023. The data analysis tool used in this study is SPSS software version 25. The data processing techniques used include classical assumption tests, path analysis, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing. The results of the study show that the three independent variables, namely liquidity ratio, stock price profitability, and capital structure, have an effect on firm value. However, there is variability in its effect. The liquidity ratio variable (X₁) has a negative and significant effect on firm value, while the stock price profitability variable (X₂) has a positive and significant effect on firm value. The capital structure variable (X₃) has a negative and significant effect on firm value. The intervening variable, namely profit growth, has a negative and significant effect on firm value. This shows that profit growth does not always increase firm value. This research provides theoretical and practical contributions. Theoretically, this study extends the understanding of the factors that affect firm value, especially in the food and beverage sector in Indonesia. Practically, this study provides useful information for investors, creditors, and company management in making decisions related to investment, financing, and company operations.
