Abstract

The rapid urbanization in major cities like Surabaya has increased the demand for childcare services, especially for families where both parents work. This research aims to develop Childcare Connect, a web-based information system that facilitates parents in searching, comparing, and selecting childcare services transparently and easily. The development method applied is the waterfall method, which consists of the stages of requirement analysis, system design, coding, testing, implementation, and maintenance. The requirement analysis was conducted through interviews with prospective customers and daycare service providers, revealing the need for information on prices, facilities, and services, as well as the importance of an online child activity reporting system to enhance efficiency and reliability. The system is designed using Unified Modeling Language (UML) to ensure a structured and consistent design and behavior. The system implementation involves the use of PHP, the Laravel framework, Bootstrap for design, and a MySQL database. System testing is conducted using black-box testing to ensure all functional requirements are met. It is hoped that Childcare Connect will provide an innovative solution to improve the accessibility and transparency of childcare service information and facilitate communication between daycare service providers and prospective users.
