Abstract
Many short films are shown on the Youtube streaming application and are produced independently and as student projects or a group of film lovers. One of the most common genres is romantic. "Tak Lagi Sama" and "Tak Lagi Sama Babak 2" are short films about romantic relationships uploaded on the Youtube application. The purpose of this research is to find out how romantic relationships are represented in the short films "Tak Lagi Sama" and "Tak Lagi Sama Babak 2" using John Fiske's semiotic analysis with the codes of television consisting of levels of reality, levels of representation, and levels of ideology. The results of this study show that there are three phases in romantic relationships depicted in the short films, the growth phase, the navigation phase, and the deterioration phase. The dynamics and challenges faced by the couple are triggered by the difference in social class between the two, causing the deterioration phase.
