Abstract
ABSTRACT Discourse Analysis of Erick Thohir's Political Branding in Broadcast Programs Report Sir! on the Trans 7 Official Youtube Channel This research discusses how Erick Thohir's political image is presented in the program "Report Sir!" which was broadcast on the official TRANS 7 Youtube channel. In this study, the critical paradigm approach was used by researchers by applying the discourse analysis method by Teun A. Van Dijk and utilizing the concept of political image from Speed, Butler, & Collins. The results of this discourse analysis state that the presence of Erick Thohir in the "Report Pak!" basically aims to increase its attractiveness and popularity in the eyes of the public. Through this event, Erick Thohir received a lot of praise from internet users (netizens) regarding the political image he presented. The researcher also found that Erick Thohir used a "dramaturge" communication strategy by attending the event and getting the attention of the public.
