Abstract

The interactions that occur between the City of Surabaya and the City of Jombang are not only influenced by economic factors, but also influenced by social factors life. Residents outside the Jombang City area will trychoose the fastest route from several routes that connect the home zone with Jombang City. This research was conducted based on factors influencing the process of choosing a travel route from Surabaya City to Jombang City use class I, class II and class III vehicles. In this research, an analysis of route selection was carried out using gradual loading method and traffic volume analysis, obstacle analysis side and vehicle travel time. The gradual loading method was chosen because it can determine the relationship between traffic flow and travel time journey, without depending on the driver's assumptions and the characteristics of the road network. Based on the results of the questionnaire, the probability value of choosing the route is obtained. Surabaya National Road (Waru Roundabout) - Jombang as the main route is 0.37 and those who choose the Surabaya (Waru) – Jombang Toll Road route as the main route of 0.63. The results of simple linear regression analysis obtained a relationship model current – travel costs on national road routes with the equation form 55.63 + 0.031X, while on the toll road route the equation form is 32.044 + 0.024X. The factor that influences drivers in determining a route is the time factor mileage and travel costs, where is the value of the driver's coefficient of determination choosing the Surabaya (Waru) – Jombang Toll Road route as the main route of 0.995, while the coefficient of determination of drivers who choose the National Road route Surabaya (Waru Roundabout) – Jombang as the main route is 0.81.
