Abstract

Dating violence is a social problem that has a high urgency second only to domestic violence in Indonesia. From the data obtained, the most victims are women, this is based on various factors that can influence. Therefore, there is a need for media that can educate women by raising awareness to better recognize what includes violence that should not happen in a dating relationship and how to get out of the relationship. Illustrated books can be used as a medium to educate women because by using books, the information conveyed will be more complete. From interviews conducted with psychologist, illustrator, and survivors of Teen Dating Violence (TDV) as well as observations made in several bookstores, and literature studies in the form of websites, book, and journals that discus TDV, obtained keywords in the form of “Realize, Release, and Rise from Toxic Relationship”. The result is an illustrated book with a verbal concept using light and easy to understand language, of course, because it adjust the target audience, namely for late adolescents aged 17-25 years. The visual concept in the book uses flat design illustration with the use of dominant colors of pink, blue, and black.
