Abstract

Obesity is a health problem that needs attention nowadays, especially in children aged 6-12 years. Nutritional problems such as obesity in children can cause disruption of child development which will only be felt when the child has entered adulthood. Based on this, the level of insight and knowledge possessed by parents in the current era (millennial era), especially mothers, is an indispensable basic need in supporting the economic sustainability of the family both in preparing food, nurturing, and caring for children. So that a media is needed as an effort to prevent obesity in children that is packaged attractively with in-depth information and guidance in maintaining a healthy lifestyle in the form of motion graphic animation. Motion graphics function as an educational medium that can channel a message with a wide range aimed at millennial parents to be more aware of their children's lifestyle. The methods used in designing this motion graphic are qualitative and quantitative with data collection through interviews and questionnaires. Furthermore, the data is processed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques and fishbone. The results of the data analysis that has been carried out, found the keyword “Enjoyable persuasive education” which is used as a reference basis for design concepts including verbal concepts, visual concepts, and media concepts that will be used in the design of educational motion graphics with storylines that explain the causal factors, impacts, and guidelines for actions that can be taken in the prevention of health problems, obesity. With the creation of an educational video with this motion graphic technique, it is hoped that it can help foster awareness in maintaining health, especially in order to avoid obesity by implementing a healthy lifestyle.
