Abstract
The design aims to design an innovative and fun math learning medium for elementary school students of 1st and 2nd grade using board games to improve the learning outcomes of basic counting operations of aggregation and reduction. This design is used to design and create a board of games of aggregation and reduction as a learning tool for students of 1st and 2nd grade mathematics lessons that can be used by primary school teachers. Planning board game design on research is useful so that students do not undergo learning that makes learning less enjoyable. Based on low mathematical ability data of Indonesian students based on PISA results in 2018 and 2022. Demonstrates the need for innovative and enjoyable learning aids to enhance students' interest and learning outcomes in mathematics. The research data obtained on this design is used to obtain data that produces concepts that can be used in designing board games. The data was obtained from interviews with psychologists and pediatricians, FGD (Focus Group Discussion) with students, and surveys of 11 SD teachers. The FGD (Focus Group Discussion) showed that the interestingly designed board games, like the theme that has been chosen, namely the ocean, are expected to help effectively improve the learning outcomes of basic counting and reduction operations in elementary school students of 1st and 2nd grade, which can also be used as a teaching tool for teachers of 1 and 2th grade in mathematical lessons of summing and reducing materials.
