Abstract
Batik is one of the cultural developments, especially in Java, the development in question is how to make cloth, while the motif is a combination of various other cultural influences. In order to develop awareness of preserving batik cloth. One of the strategies is a cultural strategy, which is a cultural instrument that can easily remind people of the history of how the art of batik existed and developed to this day. In order to preserve the nation's culture in the form of batik art, the establishment of facilities in the form of a batik gallery. Through the East Java Batik Gallery with a Contemporary Architectural Approach, it is hoped that batik and UKM Batik Crafts in East Java can develop creativity and promote batik works throughout East Java. And with the Contemporary Architecture Approach, the East Java Batik Gallery will have a display concept that provides an overview of the quality of batik and reflects the freedom of work to become a point of interest for the surrounding environment. Contemporary architecture itself is an architectural style that aims to provide an example of a certain quality and also the freedom to express an architectural style. While contemporary is an initial idea in creating the attractiveness of a building. Therefore, the building of culture, entertainment and trade is one of the buildings that quite a lot uses contemporary concepts because this concept can be a concept that can create the attractiveness of the building.
