Abstract
Highways are a very important land transportation infrastructure, so good road pavement design is very necessary. However, today's highways often experience damage in a relatively short time, both newly built roads and newly repaired roads. This study was conducted on the 1.1 km Driyorejo - Legundi road section, from STA 8 + 300 to STA 9 + 400. The reason for this study was taken because field conditions showed that the Driyorejo - Legundi road experienced significant damage due to high traffic volume and excessive vehicle loads, which caused various problems that impacted the reduction of road life. This study used the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method to analyze the level of road damage and the 2017 Bina Marga method to evaluate the road design life based on traffic loads. Data collection was carried out for 3 days (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday) at 06.00-18.00 WIB. The PCI analysis results show that the road conditions are in the category of no damage to moderate damage, with PCI values ranging from 40 to 100 and an average PCI value of 77.75. Meanwhile, the Average Daily Traffic (ADR) value in 2025 reached 23,213 vehicles/day. The calculation of Remaining Life (RL) showed a decrease of 1,56% from 98.20% to 96,65%, meaning the road life was reduced from 10 years to 6,051 years. The results of this study indicate that excessive vehicle loads significantly accelerate damage and reduce road life. These findings are expected to be a reference in planning, maintaining and monitoring more optimal road infrastructure.
