Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of affective commitment and work ethic on the performance of members of the Komunitas Senyum Anak Nusantara (SAN) Chapter Sidoarjo. The research problem is motivated by a decline in member contributions to the external work program of the SAN Chapter Sidoarjo for the 2024/2025 period, which has the potential to reduce the effectiveness of community program implementation. The research method used is quantitative with a survey approach targeting 74 members of the SAN Chapter Sidoarjo. The data collection instrument consists of a questionnaire using a Likert scale, which was then analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS). The results of the study indicate that affective commitment has a positive and significant effect on member performance, as shown by indicators of concern for the organization, sense of belonging, emotional attachment, and happiness when carrying out work programs. In addition, work ethic also has a positive and significant effect on member performance, as seen in indicators of interpersonal skills, initiative, and reliability. These findings indicate that enhancing members' affective commitment and work ethic can improve the quality, quantity, responsibility, and collaboration in the implementation of external work programs. This study is expected to contribute to the SAN Chapter Sidoarjo community in optimizing member participation and serve as a reference for future research in nonprofit organizations.
