Abstract

This study aims to determine, test and prove the effect of financial literacy, hedonism, and social media on the consumptive behavior of Shopee Paylater users in Generation Z in Surabaya. Using a quantitative approach with the research population, namely Generation Z aged 15-29 years who live in Surabaya City. Data was collected from a sample determined using the slovin formula so that 100 respondents were obtained through a closed questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. The variables were measured using a Likert scale and analyzed by multiple linear regression method using SPSS version 27. The results showed that financial literacy, hedonism, and social media each have a significant influence on consumptive behavior. This research is in line with the theory of planned behavior, which states that individual perceptions and social influences contribute to consumption decisions. This research contributes to the understanding of consumer behavior in digital financial services and offers strategic insights in managing its impact among Generation Z.
