Abstract
Indonesia is a country that has a large area, each region has a different cultural diversity. One of the cultures in Indonesia is art culture. One area that has a lot of cultural diversity is East Java. Ponorogo is a district located in the western part of East Java Province and directly adjacent to Central Java. Ponorogo Regency is an area that has cultural arts. The art is Ponorogo Reog art. The arts are developing from the territory of Indonesia to foreign countries. Reog is a cultural art in the form of traditional dances originating from Ponorogo Regency and continues to develop from generation to generation as people's entertainment and is one of the traditions that aims to strengthen friendship. The design of the Reog Gallery in Ponorogo aims to preserve the artistic culture of Reog Ponorogo which is carried out by exhibiting reog craft works, buying and selling promotions, educational facilities for making reog and its history, as well as staging reog as cultural tourism, by introducing Reog Ponorogo to the wider community and also having potential for visitor public facilities as gallery support facilities that can optimally improve gallery functions, so that they can attract domestic and foreign tourists who can be used as tourist attractions, education, and can improve the economy in Ponorogo. This design applies the theme of the Identity Symbol Emphasis approach with the iconic design approach and the metaphoric architectural design method. The results obtained from this design form a building that can be used according to its function and become an iconic building in Ponorogo which characterizes the Identity of the Reog Gallery which is located in Ponorogo as Reog City.
