Abstract
Basically the company charged with the fast-paced working time and competitive where it is an interesting challenge at the same time be a source of stress, this is because in each of the company's operations strongly affected the physical and mental conditions of the employees. While compensation work is the real form of the support organizations against employees. Compensation is well balanced with the workload will provide motivation for employees in work sehinngga quality and productivity of work is increasing. To that end, compensation should always be taken into account in order to be able to encourage employees to have adequate qualifications in the workforce. The sample of this research using a purposive sampling technique i.e. where this technique is non probability sampling means that every Member of the population has no chance or opportunity that is the same as the sample. Purpossive Sampling is a technique of determining the sample with a particular consideration. By using purposive sampling technique because samples taken as many as 38 people part means. Method of data collection using the questionnaire. The data were analyzed by multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS software 20.0 for windows. Based on the results of the statistical test with test F, F count (26.486) > F table (2.874) H0 is rejected and H1 accepted at the rate of 5% which means significant simultaneous Compensation (X 1) and Work Stress (X 2 ) a significant effect on performance of employees (Y). Based on the test results of the statistics by using the t-test, indicating that the variable compensation have t count ≤ t table, then H0 is accepted and rejected at the level of significance a Hi 5% to the value of compensation (0.335) ≤ t table (2.03011) (X 1 ) Compensation does not influence significantly on performance of employees (Y) PT KAI DAOP VIII region of Surabaya. Whereas Work Stress variables (X 2 ) has the value t calculate (6.186) > t table (2.03011) then H0 is rejected and Hi received. That means that at the level of significance of 5% is no influence between work stress significantly (X 2) on performance of employees (Y).
