Abstract
The Marjan syrup advertisement "Baruna Sang Penjaga Samudera" Ramadan 2023 edition is an advertisement with a storytelling campaign concept that narrates how Baruna, as the guardian of the ocean, strives to protect citizens from impending threats. This research aims to understand the audience's response to the advertisement and its impact on the message conveyed by Marjan as the advertiser. The research method employed is qualitative descriptive with Stuart Hall's reception analysis. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews and documentation. The study focuses on the audience's reactions, interpretations, and meanings regarding the ocean pollution message in Marjan syrup's "Baruna Sang Penjaga Samudera" Ramadan 2023 edition on YouTube, subsequently categorized into three positions according to Stuart Hall: dominant-hegemonic position, negotiated position, and opposition position.
