Abstract
The mass media according to their roles function as givers of information, givers of personal identities, means of social integration and interaction, and as a means of entertainment. In its development the media has turned into the most passionate, profitable and promising economic sector. In addition, the progress of the internet and the changing characteristics of the media towards new media as the implications of the development of the internet have revived the need for media literacy. New media-based media literacy makes the public or community not only become users, but can become producers of media messages. Remotivi as a channel for critical public aspirations or opinions on developing media issues. They place themselves as a forum for the community to participate in improving the content of television broadcasts and media offerings towards better, more educating and better quality change. This research in a qualitative deep descriptive by interpretation of the fact temuan-temuan field on the role of social media as a tool literacy. The researchers used data collection technique according to the study, the interviews, research literature, and research documentation. Based on it, now that media it has not been able to meet its function in the community as a guard and guardians of in any policy came from political politikus.remotivi as one of the media communication study tried to increase literasi element politainment study of the existence of .Reason remotivi use youtube because it was felt that the potential and glory to achieving were far greater than traditional in communication with a number of individuals.
