Abstract
ABSTRACT General elections, especially presidential elections in Indonesia, will be held again in 2024. Presidential candidates will compete to win the hearts of the people using their respective coalition or party strategies. In this research, the researcher focuses on the political promotion carried out by the Gerindra party through social media Tiktok in an effort to promote Prabowo Subianto as a candidate for President of Indonesia in 2024. Social media as a medium for political promotion is something new in Indonesia. With its speed and wide distribution, social media is certainly the right promotional tool for political candidates to carry out political promotions. Tiktok in this study was chosen because of the large number of beginner voters who use Tiktok social media. Therefore, the influence that the Gerindra party's political promotion on Tiktok social media has on the attitude of supporting new voters towards Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election is an interesting thing to research. The research method in this research uses quantitative methods with the type of Explanatory Research. Data from respondents was taken using a questionnaire distributed online with samples that matched predetermined characteristics. The results of this research show that there is a positive and significant influence provided by the political promotion of the Gerindra party on Tiktok social media on attitudes supporting Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election among first-time voters in Samarinda.
