Abstract
With the ever-increasing spread of the corona virus in Indonesia, more parties will have to accept the impact. Also included for people who want to travel far. The government asks all Indonesian citizens to stay at home to reduce the spread of this virus. Likewise, ticket buddies must also be vigilant regarding the conditions around us at this time. Then after the crisis was overcome, the next public relations task was to restore the reputation of PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) in the public eye. The problem is, so many and often the level of reports of passenger complaints during the Covid-19 pandemic. This causes the image formed by the company will be very difficult to repair, therefore Public Relations as a mouthpiece of the company must work hard to work on it. In this case Humasda PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Surabaya Daop VIII authorized to resolve the crisis. The research methodology used in this study is qualitative with data collection techniques carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The informants consisted of employees at DAOP VIII Surabaya, Daop VIII Surabaya employees, Daop VIII Surabaya railroad transportation users, and Daop VIII Surabaya relationship. Based on the results of research that has been done that the strategic plan of PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) short-term during the Covid-19 pandemic, which covered protecting our people, securing cash and liquidity, cost reduction and business structuring. The implementation of the strategy was carried out with a socialization program, transportation control in the context of preventing the spread of Covid-19, securing cash and liquidity, reducing operational costs and structuring the railroad business. Where the evaluation of transportation control strategy programs in the framework of preventing the spread of Covid-19 cannot be evaluated because it is still in the implementation stage.
