Abstract
A glycerol plant with a capacity of 70,000 tons per year will be established in Cilegon, Banten. This plant will operate 24 hours a day and 330 days a year. The plant will use the epichlorohydrin hydrolysis process, utilizing raw materials such as epichlorohydrin and a sodium hydroxide solution, which will react in a continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR). Based on the economic analysis, the return rate on investment for establishing the plant is 14.48%. To assess the feasibility of the pre-project of the plant, several factors need to be considered, including economics, processes, and company management. Some economic indicators that can be used to evaluate the feasibility of establishing this plant include the Rate of Return (ROR), Pay Out Period (POP), and Break-Even Point (BEP). Choosing the right and effective process can provide more advantages for the company. The chosen form of the company for implementing this glycerol plant is a Limited Liability Company (PT), which is expected to facilitate the acquisition of capital by selling shares to the public, legal entities, and individuals.
