Abstract
This study contains the generation gap representation in the film "Mahasiswi Baru 2019". This study uses a qualitative method, with John Fiske's Television Code semiotics analysis in the form of 3 (three) levels of representation, namely Level of Reality, Level of Representation and Level of Ideology. Data was collected through observing scenes in the film "Mahasiswi Baru 2019" and then taking a few scenes that are considered capable of representing the generation gap in the film. The elements in the film "Mahasiswi Baru 2019" are interpreted as researchers as interpreters based on experience gained from certain social and cultural interactions. From the results of the study concluded that the film “Mahasiswi Baru" shows the generation gap of several factors, namely differences in attitudes, technology, social expectations, economics, education and communication gaps. While the ideology contained in the film is the ideology of liberalism. Keywords: Film, Semiotics, Representation, John Fiske, Generation Gap
