Abstract
LARASATI NANCY CASSIA, SURABAYAN ADOLESCENT ACCEPTANCE OF HEDONISM AS A LIFESTYLE IN FILM “CRAZY RICH ASIANS” This research purposeto describe adolescent acceptance of hedonism as a lifestyle in the film "Crazy Rich Asians". Film "Crazy Rich Asians" tells the story of romance between a rich man and a poor woman, in this film featuring scenes containing hedonism of a scene by using a luxurious place as well as items used by the players fairly expensive. Researchers choose adolescents as the subject of research because the film is included in the category of adolescents, in addition teenagers who became informants in this study are distinguished through the background, experience possessed, age, gender, and profession. This study uses the method of reception analysis, especially model encoding / decoding and indepth interview as data collection techniques. The result from this research is all of the informant have different assumption. They interpret and receive message contained in “Crazy Rich Asians” film based on the informant’s background.
