Abstract
Film is one of the potential media to influence audiences because of its ability and strength to reach many social segments. Most of the storyline in the film shows the real life of symbolic dominance over women is also evident in the judgment that the good woman is the one who married, gave birth, educated the child, and took care of the household. However, in the wonder woman movie, the wonder woman figure is described as a woman who has masculine traits such as strong, courageous, independent and clever war. The method used in this research is descriptive by using qualitative approach and reception analysis theory to know how acceptance of adolescent Surabaya to masculine character of Wonder Woman character in film Wonder Woman. The reception analysis theory divides 3 message reception by the audience ie Dominant, Negotiated, and Oppotitional. The technique used to collect the primary data source information is in-depth interviews that will produce in-depth information, accurate, and factual. Based on the results of analysis and discussion known acceptance of adolescent Surabaya to masculine character of Wonder Woman character in Wonder Woman film that is more including to Dominant characteristic. From the answers put forward the informants represented the teenagers in Surabaya that most people accept and agree that the Wonder Woman character in the Wonder Woman film has masculine traits and also accepts if now woman have the same masculine traits as males.
