Abstract

This study aims to determine the processing of purchasing information and the factors that affect consumer perceptions of organic vegetables. The population in this study is the consumer of organic vegetables in Giant Waru. The sample of research using accidental sampling technique, with amount as many as 40 people. Methods of data collection using field research and literature research, field research consists of observations and questionnaires. Based on the results of analysis There are 5 stages through which consumers in the processing of information on the purchase of organic vegetables. The stages are exposure, attention, understanding, acceptance, and resistance. However, found 20% of consumers who only through the stage of exposure, attention, acceptance, and resistance. The rest, 80% of consumers through the stage of exposure, attention, understanding, acceptance, and resistance. This is because 80% of consumers are interested in the benefits and content of organic vegetables. Therefore, consumers who initially consume conventional vegetables switch to consume organic vegetables. There are 2 factors that influence consumer perception of organic vegetables. These factors are stimulus factor (79%) and individual factor (21%). Based on the results of research, stimulus factors affect the price, quality, packaging, color of vegetables, and others. Meanwhile, individual factors affect the motivation in buying organic vegetables, knowledge of the content present in organic vegetables and other foods. Therefore, the two factors are very influential in the purchase decision of organic vegetables.
